To make use of the advanced features of OldFramlinghamian.com you must first be a member of the Society of Old Framlinghamians. If you are not then please contact the SOF Hon. Treasuer for details.
If you have already advised us of your email address you are partially registered for the website (see below). Otherwise you need to advise the SOF Registrar of your email address via email. Please include some form of identification e.g. the address to which your SOF Newletter is sent.
To complete the registration process go to "User Functions > Sign up as a New User" towards the bottom of the left hand column then create a user name e.g. FBloggs then your name e.g. Fred Bloggs and your email address.
You will then receive an automated email from us with a password. Then return to the website to enter your username and password.
If you want to change your password then go to the User Functions box and click on My Account. Enter a new Password in the Password box and then click Save Information at the bottom of the page.
Your contact details are only available to members of the Society, but if you want to make your contact details unavailable even to members, then go to the User Functions box and click on My Account. Tick the box next to Ex-Directory. Then click Save Information at the bottom of the page.
When you comment on a topic on the site, or make a contribution to discussion in the Forum, you can automatically include your name or other details (address or phone number, perhaps). Go to the User Functions box and click on My Account followed by About You. You can write anything you like in the Signature box and then click Save Information at the bottom of the page.
Your Personal Profile can include a photograph. To start with, however, there first needs to be a digital photograph stored in your PC in "jpeg" format, and it must be not more than 20kbytes. If this means nothing to you, then consult your nearest teenager!
Assuming you have such a picture available, then go to the User Functions box and click on My Account followed by About You. Click on the Browse button next to the Photo box and this will bring up a Choose File dialogue box. Use this to locate the picture file and double-click (or click Open) to write the location into the Photo box. Then go to the bottom of the page and click Save Information.
The Bio feature of your Personal Profile allows you to enter details about your career, interests, family and anything else you would like other members to know about you. Go to the User Functions box and click on My Account followed by About You. Go to the Bio box and write what you like. Then go to the bottom of the page and click Save Information.
