David Turnbull writes : The OFGS Spring Meeting took place at Bishop’s Stortford Golf Club on Friday, 5th May. This was our third visit there and attracted a field of 19 players. The adverse weather obviously did not affect Jonny Newton who recorded a magnificent score of 42 points off a playing handicap of 7, and was only one over par!
Jonny Newton has agreed to carry on Captaining the 1st Team for the Halford Hewitt while Michael Schneidau will carry on running the Cyril Gray team. Hugh Curle has agreed to carry on running the team for the Grafton Morrish. James Blyth will be organising our teams for the fixtures against Aldeburgh GC and the College. At the AGM James Blyth agreed to carry on as Captain for another year with effect from 1st January 2024.
