In early October, after the terrific success in the qualifier at Gog Magog, Cambridge where we came out top, unfortunately four of the six from the qualifying team were unable to make the finals. These were played at Hunstanton and Royal West Norfolk. The course was in first class condition.
Framlingham had a bye in the first round so went into the competition against Eastbourne in the second round, where, unfortunately, the team went down 2-1. Birkenhead ran out eventual winners of the tournament, defeating Millfield in the final.
Framlingham team:
John Wybar & Matthew Pennock
Hugh Curle & Josh Lecompte
Harry Bush & Peter Watts
The team competed in the Solihull Salver on the Saturday, a stableford competition with the aggregate score of the three pairs. Archie Winter stepped in for Peter Watts. The team scored 77 points and tied for 18th position. Loretto made the winning score with 92 points.
A big thank you is due to Peter Watts, Josh Lecompte and John Wybar for stepping in at short notice to make up the team. Also a really special mention should be made of John Wybar who travelled down at the last minute from Edinburgh to play.
