"WANTED": OF Spectators To Support Halford Hewitt Team

It’s some time since the OF team has got beyond the first round – in 2007 we went down 1-4 to Sherborne, and in 2008 we went down by the same margin against Glenalmond. Gavin is determined to improve on this in 2009.

David Turnbull, OFGS Hon Sec, reports, “We’ve been drawn to play against Highgate in the first round on Thursday, 2nd April from 8.35am at Royal St George’s Golf Club, Sandwich. This could be a very difficult match as Highgate are some 23 places above us in the ranking order. Like us, they lost in the first round last year, but they got to the third round in 2007, before being beaten by Watson’s, who went on to win the tournament”.
