This year we had our best ever turnout at Royal Worlington, with twenty seven members. It was good to welcome back Chris Aylott, who had not played in an OFGS Meeting for many years, together with Tony Stebbings, Peter and Stephen Over each making their debut at an OFGS Meeting.
Robin Anderton, with an excellent score of 39 points, won the Captain’s Prize and the Captain, Jonny Newton, won the Minter Cup for the best scratch score of the day, 32 points.
Division 2 was won for the fourth year running by local member, Peter Howard-Dobson, with a score of 35 points. Local knowledge is obviously a great help and his handicap should surely come down soon – even a road traffic accident near Bury St Edmunds, which delayed the arrival of many people, including Peter, did not affect his game!
In the afternoon Robin Anderton and Michael Spencer won the foursomes over 9 holes with an excellent score of 22 points from Mike Schneidau and Tony Stebbings, who scored 17 points.

We look forward to returning to Royal Worlington on Thursday, 8 May 2014.
