Death of late Ron Jones’s widow

Bob Williams reports : OFs who passed through Brandeston Hall during the Ron Jones years (1974-80) will be saddened to hear of the death, after a short illness, of Joyce Jones, on 16 December 2016. Joyce, who was in her mid-90s, will be fondly remembered for her supporting role to Ron, during his tenure as Master. It was, of course, in 1977 that the decision to admit girls to BH was taken and Joyce played a critical part in this first, tentative, move in a smooth transition towards co-education across the entire age range at Framlingham. 

Her funeral will take place at 3.00 p.m., on Thursday, 5 January at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium, Garford, Abingdon OX13 5PA.
