OF makes England debut on track

Bob Williams (Hon OF) writes "Former UK U.15 Cross-Country Champion, John Bird (G01-08), made a significant advance in his running career, by earning his first England vest, on the track, in the Men’s 800m event at the 3rd Manchester International, on 15 August. John (seen here far Right), finished a creditable 3rd. John has an impressive personal best time of 1m 47.79, set in June 2017, at the British Athletics Championships. He is currently studying at Loughborough for his Ph.D (In ‘Self-control and Endurance Sport Performance’!) while, at the same time, seeking to further his career at this centre of sporting excellence. Keep up the hard work John… We look forward to see you modelling that cherished GB vest before too long!"
