Death of former Brandeston teacher

Bob Williams (Hon OF) writes : Alumni passing through Framlingham College Prep School in the 1980’s will be saddened to learn of the death, on 11 June, 2019, of Robin V Williams, former Head of the Maths Department at Brandeston Hall. An inspired teacher and a cricket coach par excellence, he will be fondly remembered by those under his wing as having a bark infinitely worse than his bite – but one was left in no doubt when Robin was nearby and in full flow! Likewise, he was much loved as a Common Room colleague. Veteran staff member from that era, Brian Rosen, O.F., remarked to me in a recent communication – 'I used to say that every common room needs a Robin – but only one or the system would collapse!’. In his retirement he continued to live nearby, in Aldringham, claiming that he would wish to live in no other county than Suffolk
