Remembrance Sunday 2019

On Sunday 10th November 2019 the College held its traditional Remembrance Sunday service in the College Chapel.  Louise North, the Principal and Head of the Senior School, Framlingham College gave an address centred around 2019 being the 75th anniversary of the loss of distinguished OF Percy Charles Pickard (G26-32) when leading the famous bombing raid on Amiens prison in February1944.  You can read her full address by clicking here.

The audience in the College Chapel included the usual good number of OFs including Ken Mayhew RMWO (R29-34) who at the age 102 was a D Day veteran and close contemporary of Pickard’s.  He is pictured here laying a poppy on the College altar in a very poignant moment.  Remarkably, Ken's OF brother Jimmy will also be 100 on 22nd November 2019 and the SOF will mark this with a special birthday card designed by OF Chris Keeble.
