Captain Claude Allerton DSO (1900-1905)

During WW1 served in Suffolk Regiment and was awarded the DSO “For conspicuous gallantry in action. After his senior officers had become casualties in the attack, he took command of the battalion and carried on with coolness and judgement under heavy fire, until a senior officer arrived in the evening.” Died in 1931.
