Colonel John Patrick Davey OBE TD DL (Garrett 1936-1940)
On leaving the College was articled to Chartered Accountants in Colchester, but WW2 intervened and he finally qualified in 1950. D-Day plus 1 saw him in the Normandy invasion from where he fought through into Belgium, Holland and finally to Hamburg. In due course he became senior partner at Scrutton, Goodchild and Sanderson in Ipswich. He joined the TA and rose to full Colonel and was awarded the OBE in 1989. He was also a Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk. He was a Vice President and auditor of the SOF for many years.
