David Edward Ballard (K55-62) (Kerrison 1955-1962)

He was a Goldsmith Scholar at the College and after leaving initially studied at Northampton College, London.  He went on to become that unusual combination of Chartered Civil Engineer and Barrister.

For twenty-three years he was a governor, including eight years as Chair of Governors, of The Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls.  A trustee for eight years, including six years as Chair, of Greensleeves Homes Trust, a charity providing care homes for the elderly.  Chief Executive of the British Safety Council for six years.

He was awarded the MBE in 2021 for services to Education, to Health and to Social Care.
