Group Captain William Lancelot Jordan DSC* DFC (1909-1911)
During WW1 he flew Sopwith Camels and was first awarded the Distinguished Service Cross on 22 February 1918. He was awarded a Bar less than a month later and a few months after that he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is credited with downing 39 planes in total – 8th highest by a British pilot. He died on 20 August 1925 in a motor accident, aged 28.
