Jack Abbott MP (R2007-2009) (Rendlesham 2007-2009)

He grew up in Suffolk and after attending the College and going to university, he came back to live and work in Suffolk. He worked for a renewable energy trade association and has previously worked in Westminster and as a teaching assistant for a local high school. He was formerly the Labour Party’s education spokesman at Suffolk County Council and contested the Central Suffolk and North Ipswich seat for Labour in the 2015 General Election. In July 2022 he was selected as the Labour party candidate for Ipswich at the next General Election and on 4 July 2024 he was elected an MP.
