Mr Kwai Hong Ip OBE (Garrett 1981-1988)

After graduating in 1991, he joined the RAF and qualified as a Navigator / Weapons Systems Officer, before attended Bar School and getting called to the Bar in 1995. On leaving the RAF in 2002, he moved to California, passed the bar exam and served as a public defender. He returned to Europe and was involved in various roles as a prosecutor in Kosovo and then Bosnia and Herzegovina to prosecute atrocity crimes arising from the conflict in 1992-1995.  After further prosecutor roles in The Hague he became Deputy Specialist Prosecutor (Deputy Chief) for Kosovo in The Hague.  In September 2020 he joined the European Patent Office in Munich as a Director and in the 2020 New Years Honours List he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for “services to International Criminal Law.”
