Mr Caspar Leo Zafer (Stradbroke 1989-1992)
Is an actor and commercial producer living in the USA. He’d rowed at university and had long thought about some sort of endurance event – and so, when he spotted an article about a rowing race across the Pacific, he decided to investigate further. The rest is history. He put together in a scratch crew of four and won the first 2,400 mile Great Pacific Race, crossing the Pacific in a world record time of 43 days, 5 hours and 30 minutes.
