Mr Edward Gerald Steel MC (1911-1915)

During WW1 served in London Regiment (and later Bedfordshire and and Hertfordshire Regiment) and was awarded the Military Cross on 25 November 1916 “For conspicuous gallantry in action. He led his platoon with great courage and determination to their final objective. Later, he consolidated and maintained his position for four days until relieved. He set a splendid example to his men.”
