The BBC News has reported that Jeff Wornham K89-95 GM is to be posthumously awarded the George Medal. Jeff was one of two Hertfordshire Firemen who died in Feb 2005 while trying to save a woman from a blaze in a block of flats. (See OF News Article).

Jeff is also include in the Saved a Life section of Distinguished OFs. This article also includes some pictures of the memorial on the Back at the College.
The George Medal is principally awarded to civilians for “acts of great bravery”.
