Life Peerage awarded to OF

Update : Alistair had just advised me that from 10 January 2011 he will be known as Lord Lexden, of Lexden in the county of Essex and of Strangford in the county of Down.

Original item : Alistair Cooke OBE (K55-63) has today become only the 3rd OF to be awarded a peerage. He is a political historian who has spent most of his career in the central organisation of the Conservative Party. He was awarded his peerage on 17 November 2010 for his career in education, authorship and politics.
