John died back in 2020 and played an huge part in the life of the Society and the College over many years.
Back in 2023 the College approached the Society to say that John left a substantial legacy to the College and they and the family were keen for the money to be used towards something connected to hockey. Within the project to replace the Inskips astroturf during the summer of 2024, the decision was made to use the legacy towards the cost of new and significantly improved dugouts.
The Society put out an appeal to some OFs who knew and had worked with John and, together with these donations, the Society made a further donation of £5000 to aid this element of the project.
We are delighted to report that the overall Inskips project is now complete and there will be further news about this soon. For now, and as you can see in these before and after pictures, the new dugouts are a huge improvement. We are sure you will agree this is a suitable project to honour John and the College have done a great job. Importantly, John’s family think its fantastic.
