MOREAU LEAVING SCHOLAR

Alicia Pryce

2024 - 2027

I joined Framlingham College prep school in year 2 and, due to all the opportunities which the school provided for me and the many friends and connections that I made, I stayed right through to year 13. As one of only a very few people, within my year, who had remained at the school since pre-prep, I believe this gave me a really strong connection to the College, which was further enhanced through my taking part in so many different areas of school life throughout my College career.

I tried many of the different opportunities the school had to offer; however, the sporting activities are the ones which I value the most, playing both 1st team netball and hockey, as well as being a part of the 1st team hockey squad for the majority of my time at Fram. Throughout my time I made some really strong connections with people through sport, and I would love to continue nurturing these relationships via the Moreau Scholarship, and planning sports-based activities to keep team members connected.

I hope to continue playing sport at university next year, where I plan to study economics – an A-level subject which I thoroughly enjoyed taking, alongside maths and geography and an Extended Project Qualification. Looking back, I really value all the support the College provided with academic subjects, and I think that the wide variety of options and the passion of the teachers helped me in being so clear about what I want to do in the future.

I really valued all of the team opportunities at the College and, on reflection, all of my favourite memories are associated with being part of a team: such as becoming national champions in 2023 in the independent school’s hockey competition, and also partaking in bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh expeditions from around Framlingham to Yorkshire. I really enjoyed working together with people and hope to work well with Felix in the next few years in completing our roles as Moreau Scholars.

I really believe that Fram has shaped me as a person and will miss many aspects about being a pupil at the school, but I can’t wait to return as an OF, and to remain connected to the school for many years, alongside helping the rest of my peer group to do the same through the Moreau Scholarship, which I feel it is a huge honour to receive.
