Ollie Trevers (G2011-13) is the lead singer of the band The Great Leslie. They have made it to the semi-final of the Chefsache ESC 2025 competition after impressing a panel of judges. The winner will be chosen to perform for Germany at this year’s Eurovision, which takes place in Basel, Switzerland, in May 2025.
His band are eligible to represent Germany due to one of the members being German. Ollie is pictured below, second from the right.

The Great Leslie were initially part of 24 acts chosen to audition for Germany’s Eurovision selection competition, having been picked from a pool of about 3,000 entrants. The four-piece group then made it to the semi-final after performing an “authentic” rendition of Coldplay’s Fix You.
Ollie said “I was absolutely exhausted by the end of it but it was amazing and incredible. When you go up there, it’s one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of your life because you are going on television in front of millions of people.”
He went on to say “I made a bit of a faux pas because the studio air was really, really dry, as they had loads of dry ice. I was sucking on a cough sweet to try and keep my vocal chords lubricated, but as I went up on stage I forgot I still had it in my mouth. So for the entire performance I was fighting for space in my mouth while I was singing, so I freaked out a bit at the beginning!”
They will next be performing on Saturday, but this time they will have to play the song which they could find himself singing in Basel in May. It therefore has to be an original song. Ollie added “The whole competition is a really great opportunity for everyone involved and there are some really lovely talented people there. But, I am confident and I think the judges really like us, so I am hoping we go through.”
Ollie has the distinction of being the only OF with both parents, Perry and Maria in the Distinguished section of the website – click here.
